Chairman's Challenge


At Oliver's we aim to enhance the health and wellbeing of our customers by providing nourishing real food options, free of additives and preservatives. We believe a diet comprised mainly of plant-based, fresh, natural and organic ingredients will have a deeply positive effect on body, mind and spirit!

It is with this belief in mind that Oliver’s Chairman, Mark Richardson, in conjunction with Oliver’s nutritionist Prue Staples-Hill developed the Chairman’s Challenge, a personally designed ninety day meal plan that consists solely of Oliver’s menu items - that’s ninety days of Real Food. 

The aim of the challenge

Mark’s decision to create and commit to the Chairman’s Challenge was guided by many factors, including genetically inherited high cholesterol, excess weight, and higher than normal blood pressure, however the idea was borne mainly from a desire to live a happier and healthier life.

The consideration to include only Oliver’s menu items is a testament to the variety of fresh natural and organic options available on our menu.

the 'only oliver's' - fresh natural & organic meal plan

The ‘Only Oliver’s’ - Fresh Natural & Organic meal plan has been created with a focus on plant-based foods. In fact 80% of the plan consists of wholefood fruit, vegetables, nuts, salads and other plant-based items on the Oliver’s menu, and 20% meat and animal products. 

The plan also allows for the regular consumption of ‘discretionary’ items that are energy dense. These ‘treats’ are consumed earlier in the day and in smaller portions. Additionally, the plan includes 2x standard glasses of wine on Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday lunch.

It is a fundamental point of the Chairman’s Challenge that Mark consumes the core Oliver’s menu over the course of the ninety days and that every item is available to all Oliver’s customers.

Follow Mark's Journey

Mark’s Kilojoule controlled menu plan has been developed in consultation with his GP, Dr Will Manovel of the Balmoral Medical Practice. Mark will undergo periodical checks by Dr Manovel to track his progress and note any changes in his physique along the way.
