Extrakt from Oliver's Online feedback:
What did you like most?
I like the fact that you have introduced the pita bread toast and the beans for small eaters without too much money.

My Menu suggestions:
Can I suggest you use Organic milk in your hot drinks. I would always go in to buy it in favour of Mcdonalds accross the parking lot. The problem is it is more money and no reason really for the extra. Organic milk is easy to get and not that expensive anymore.

General Comments:
Love that you try so hard to create healthy food for the travelling public on the F3.

Where to open and Oliver's store:
On the northern beaches of Sydney

Hi Jason,

just a little feedback on some excellent customer service I received 28/9/11 at your central coast outlet on the freeway, by one of your employees, Kelly, very helpful, great enthusiastic work ethic and attitude, there were no yogurts available, and she very keenly went and made me one, great to see someone who actually wants to provide good customer service, if you guys have any monthly employee awards, I would certainly recommend Kelly, for such an award, thank you for employing such quality employees as Kelly to serve us, the public, you guys have the best coffee and yogurts, thank you, kind regards,

Bill Morris

Hi There!

I just signed up to your website and suggested that I’d love to see another Oilver’s open up somewhere in Newcastle…. But I was just considering what a great idea a mobile van might be.

Working at Pacific National, we are trying to help promote healthy diets and lifestyles for our employees, and good healthy, but delicious foods delivered via mobile service would also be fantastic.

If not a mobile service, the Hexam store should think about taking orders from local businesses and delivering out at lunch times!

Just an idea I felt worth passing on.

Thanks for the great food – I ALWAYS stop on my way to Sydney now, and even make my partner stop on the F3 on the way home to Swansea every weekend to pick me up some of your bircher, GF Muffins and sushi!  J  Keep up the great work and great food!

Its wonderful to have a business offer something nicer, tastier and healthier than burgers and grease, and the fact that you cater for Gluten Free is a BIG plus for me!

Many thanks
Nadine

What did you like most: real food! We were able to give our whole family good, nutritional food in a 'fast' environment. Great not walking into a place and having to fight off requests for junk.

General Comments: You have converted our 11yr old from a hot chip junkie to enjoying sushi in the kids pack. A major achievement. Thank you! Olivers is also the only place where I could ask (and receive with no fuss but real enthusiasm) for a raw carrot. We had been eating celery sticks and cherry tomatoes in the car and I just felt like a raw carrot. Your staff were so helpful - they peeled it (offering to chop which I didn't require) and I left VERY happy and not feeling like a rabbit! The service was polite, fast and obliging, a real novelty these days. And they genuinely smiled!! On the north bound trip we all sat down to eat.
All 5 of us (3 adults and 2 children) enjoyed our respective meals. Thank you too for clean amenities.

Where to open and Oliver's store: Hume Highway and any other place that takes your fancy. It would be great if your business became the McDonalds of real food - making a healthy contribution rather than a negative one.

With kind regards
Wendy

Send from an iphone: Subject: Thank you for awesome fast food! The world needs more of you!
Hi Jason,
Have just experienced Oliver's Real Food for the first time. WOW! This is awesome! Thank you for creating this amazing establishment. I can now get in the car and not feel tired and bloated because your food it's just so scrumptious and keeps your energy levels up. I often travel to Canberra so if possible could you & your team look at setting an ORF store on the HWY, near Exeter, I think it would do really well there!

Thank you for educating us (the public) on healthy food and YES fast food can really be good for you and very yummy!

With kind regards
Jessica

Allpress is fab coffee. Bought the dips with carrot and celery sticks and a juice. All excellent. We should sit down and work out how we can really help you. Thanks for the great work, it looks and tastes great!
General Comments: Thank you for saving the traveling public from revolting fast food. you prove that edible healthy snacks on the road are a viable option. Were you inspired by the amazing cages on the Italian freeways? They are a destination themselves... And so is Oliver's.
Where to open and Oliver's store: On every big highway around the country!

Hi Jason,

Just a quick note to say that we think Oliver’s Real Food is perfect!

The staff are blown away with the store downstairs – and the care package.
I have had so many people comment to me about the new healthy food outlet, and it’s ‘all really positive’.
Being located on the University grounds, we all suffer from Uni food frustration and you are the saviour for everyone here.
We should sit down and work out how we can really help you,
Thanks for the great work, it looks and tastes great!

Comments of a very happy Oliver's customer:

What did you like most? It's really difficult to find something nutritious and healthy to eat, so having an entire shop devoted to that is fabulous.
My Menu suggestions: Keep up the great work. What a breath of fresh air!
General Comments: Keep up the great work. We need more encouragement to eathealthy.
Where to open and Oliver's store: Western suburbs of Sydney to provide healthier options for the lower socioeconomic sector of society and to challenge traditional fast food outlets.

Good afternoon

I would just like to compliment Oliver’s Real Food outlet on the F3 Freeway North and Southbound on having THE best toilet facilities I have ever been in.  My husband and I travel the F3 Freeway to Sydney from Newcastle frequently and always have a stop-off at “the Twin Servos” for a break and it is always such a pleasure to visit Oliver’s Real Food outlets.
The food is great always fresh and tasty and the toilet facilities are outstanding (compared to other facilities within the area and also just off the F3 Freeway in the outer Sydney area).
Well done!!!....and I tell everyone who travels the F3 Freeway to and from Sydney to call into your facilities.

Dear Jason,

I recently visited one of your stores in Newcastle and was absolutely so excited to find healthy food on the highway. I think I'm allergic to wheat and I was with a friend who has food allergies as well and who likes to eat healthy. We travel a lot for work and it made our day to find somewhere that caters to what we like to eat.
I think you have a great idea on your hands. Product range was good, prices were reasonable and service was great. I think white bread should be banned, and am constantly surprised by the crap that is sold to us in supermarkets and restaurants. Are people catching on to the concept that healthy eating can taste really good?
I wanted to write you and tell you I hope you are expanding your footprint (any stores in Sydney?) Hopefully demand will grow!

All the best.
Alex Hsiao

The comment below came though our website in November 2010
- (Please Note: Oliver's doesnot publish the email address due to privacy law that came within the form):

What did you like most: Our surprise at seeing gluten free and healthy products in a fast food store! We were blown away! Even raw snack bars! OMG
we love it.Also loved the dvd playing "Foodmatters" AND the Ekhart Tolle books on the counter - this is truly an inspired store. Congratulations. Went
to the Wyong southbound store first, then the northbound two days later, then chanced upon the Hexam one later that same day - we visited three stores in two days!

My Menu suggestions: Salad dressing for the salad would be great - but really, it was fantastic and I loved the little tub of seeds/nuts enclosed. My husband loved the coffee and the breakfast wrap. Two days later when we visited again, he and my son had icecream which they loved, plus muffins. I loved the raw snack bars. Your menu is great.

General Comments: We have stopped at Wyong Southbound many times over the past 3 years and never entered your store! This day we parked very near it
but almost walked past it - hubby was needing a coffee and started heading for the fast food store nearby - until he saw Olivers signage saying you had coffee, and bathrooms - so we then decided to check it out. We think you are a hidden gem and would perhaps see improved traffic if signage was clearer:
COFFEE, BATHROOMS, FRESH FOOD, HOT BREAKFAST etc. BTW we loved the dvd screening "Foodmatters", the bathrooms that don't have doors for germ swapping, and the E Tolle books on the counter - this store is seriously COOL!

Where to open and Oliver's store: Port Macquarie, at the intersection on Pacific and Oxley Hwy. We would even look at franchising if you're interested! We love Olivers!

Hi Jason and Amanda,

We just wanted to pass on a huge thank you for the effort you went to in looking after us for Sophie's birthday, it was really appreciated. The food was wonderful and the sandwiches were a good assortment with no vegemite in sight....how fantastic! The sausage rolls and sushi were great too and the adults ended up just sharing what we had, which is a nice testament to the quality of the food and the fruit salad was so fresh too! I think a few kids were surprised by the lack of 'colours and numbers' but we loved it and it is good to set a precedent for a party where everything isn't toxic but rather 'real'..... well done!
Sophie chose your venue for her party so I hope this aspect of your business takes off and we'll certainly tell everyone what a great experience it was for us.Amanda is a wonderful asset to your business of which I'm sure you are aware and was very prompt in getting back to me regarding organisation and menus. She also did a beautiful job with the ice cream cake, it was delicious.

Thank you also for the gorgeous gift we weren't expecting that, Sophie was delighted.

Please also thank Tracey again, she was so attentive and caring and really looked after us.

I have left a message Amanda for you regarding the photos. I just wanted to check with the parents that they were ok about us forwarding those to you, one family is away at the moment so I'll get back to shortly on that one. I don't think it would be a problem so long as names aren't used. We are happy if only Sophie's first name is used.

Please feel free to use some of the text of this email for promotional purposes if it can be helpful in any way.

Thanks again and we'll look forward to our next visit to Olivers when we are heading north.

Kind Regards
Simone Glover

Thank you!
We are very Grateful & Optimistic!
Keep up the good work, we sincerely hope Oliver’s is the McDonalds of the future!

I loveeeeeeeed the healthy food options and atmosphere on a road trip where there are usually very little healthy options. Please PLEASE open some of these cafes in Sydney suburbia? We need them!!!!
Would really like to know if any stores planned for suburban Sydney. I am in the north west and think there is definitely a market in Rouse Hill/Hills area of Sydney for these cafes. Please open one! we need more healthy options and I know that so many other locals would buy from you especially having the nutritional information available!

Lucy, NSW 2768 (12-02-10)

What a joy to find a place serving good food and drink.  I'd just about given up.  I live on the Mid-North Coast and hope you open more stores north, including nearer Brisbane.
What did you like most: Coffee that was actually drinkable and enjoyable!  Also loved the fresh fruit salad with yoghurt AND seed/nut mix.  Raisin toast serving was huge - and delicious.

My wife and I (and baby daughter) were delighted to find Oliver's - finally a place to stop and eat. Not sure how long you have been there, we have been overseas for 4 years.  So congrats on a brave move, and one I hope will reap rewards for you.

Hey, that FreshNess handmade BIRD BAR is THE BEST!!
YOU ARE GREAT!! KEEP IT COMING!

I had butter chicken with rice & choc mousse, the taste was cleansing and great. The food did not repeat on me....
Could you please open more stores in the Hawkesbury district where I am from.

Bernadette Nolland,
NSW 2756 (23-01-10)

I would like it very much if you could open a store in Sydney as I do not get to go to your store as often as I would like to thanks.

Adam (08-12-09)

I'm just completely gobsmacked that you exist at all. We've become more used to these kind of options in the City or regional centres, but at a service centre on freeway, incredible. It's so refreshing to have a choice beyond Maccas or standard Australian fare. As well I try and avoid gluten so it's incredible to me that you sell gluten free options. Fresh, more healthy options without being too austere. And yeah, the loos are in good nick.
It would be great if you could have a whole franchise all the way around Australia. Wherever there's a service centre. Also, if you could have a presence at the Sydney Cricket Ground where I go to see Swans' matches. The food there is disgusting and very expensive. I try and take my own food, but sometimes I run out of time. I don't mind the occasional pie or chips, but this food is dead at the SCG.

Susan Charlton (09-10-09) NSW 2011

Hi there
I just wanted to send a big THANK YOU and congratulations on your stores. I have been wanting something like this to open for years along the highway as I don't like the fast food. It was so refreshing to be able to stop and feed our family good healthy food on a road trip.
I hope that in the future there will be more of your stores than there are McDonalds etc.
All the best.
Angela Stafford (09-10-09)

I have been to your restaurants on the highway between Newcastle and Sydney and also your restaurant which has now opened up next to the shell petrol station at Hexham.
You really know how to create a good restaurant that offers healthy food at good prices in a clean environment. The food is perfect for when you have been stuck in the car for hours and you know that a greasy burger will just make you feel even worse.
I have to say my favourite meal was the bircher muesli. I am a big bircher fan and I have not found a tastier one than yours.
I would like you to open up a restaurant in Coffs Harbour. I think the patronage would be there, and even if you didnt get anyone else, I would be eating bircher muesli there every morning.
I really think you should consider this :D

Gemma Frith (04-09-09) NSW 2450

That breakfast wrap makes me want to head 2 hours down the freeway, get it, and turn back around. open more franchises!

In my travels, I could not believe my eyes when I noticed Oliver's with the fantastic choices for healthy food. For years, I have been frustrated by the lack of innovative choices in fast food for travelling. Oliver's is brilliant!
I just wanted to compliment you on your outstanding philosophy in providing excellence in travel food. I was impressed by so many of your features including: recycling practices, healthy food and alternative health information. The recycled napkins are great! The food is not only tasty and good but I love the low fat sweet options. My husband loved the organic steak pie. Your DVD presentation promoting lifestyle change for improving health outcomes was interesting too!
Oliver's is like an oasis in the desert of fast food outlets. Please keep up your fantastic work and I hope to see more of Oliver's in other places.
How inspiring!

Kind Regards,

At a recent team offsite we took a busload of staff from Newcastle to Sydney for a day’s events.  Having left Newcastle very early in the morning we had some hungry people on board the bus and needed to ensure they were all well fed & watered before arriving in Sydney.  With the amount of fit and health conscious people we have in our company I wanted to ensure that the food they ate was nutritious and of course delicious!  I spoke to Jason at Oliver’s Real Food about our options and with his assistance we were able to pre-order our food, juices and coffees.  This ensured that when we arrived we had a minimal turnaround time and apart from a quick leg stretch our staff were able to stay on the bus and we could literally eat on the run.  The food was freshly prepared, of an extremely high quality and we all loved it.  Our staff couldn’t believe they could get such yummy food at a road stop and were very impressed with the breakfast options they had.  I highly recommend Oliver’s Real Food to any passerby travellers whether you are on your own or in a group.  Nothing is a problem for them and you will be grateful of their high standards and quality real food.

Regards,
Jacqui Mackley, Sydney, January 2008

I recently saw an add for your establishment and had the opportunity to visit Olivers yesterday.
How impressive, you have created an amazing place that caters for the "aware" individual. Well done.
How wonderful it would be to have Olivers in every town that has a McDonalds. What a pleasure it would be to buy healthy take-away on the way home from footy etc.
Muswellbrook needs you!
I am an Independent Representative for Organic and Natural Enterprise Group and am very passionate about educating the community on the benefits of an organic lifestyle. If you are interested I would very much like to provide your establishment with some FREE organic and natural living newspapers that will reinforce the health message to your customers.
Being in the organic industry allows me the opportunity to share information to many, so I would be happy to spread the word about Olivers, perhaps you could provide me with some pamphlets to share.
Have a happy and healthy day,

Warmest Regards,
Rae Witt

Oliver's
is a slick polished set up and although it felt like years in the making - it is now a reality, providing people with an alternative to unhealthy stomach fillers ... you know health is my absolute passion and i can only hope that we will soon be seeing a chains of Oliver's around the country. I especially need to congratulate on the quality of the food you are serving ... we know there are a lot of people claiming to serve healthy food but is bland, boring and totally devoit of taste. The food I tasted was hot, healthy and really delicious. I am looking forward to my next trip down the highway when I shall be sampling more of your fare.

I just wanted to reinforce how delighted we are after travelling the highway between Port Stephens and Sydney for 24 years to at last have a healthy choice when we stop to 'revive and survive' on our journey north (and soon southbound).  The meals without additives are a fresh and tasty alternative, the coffees are great (and we are very fussy!), the service bright and friendly and the bathrooms spotless (I love the added touch of the lavender hand lotion!)
I have acquainted all my family and friends with details of your new venture and hope that all your other clients are passing the word in their own circles.  We look forward to seeing your business go from strength to strength and hope to see you open one day in our own area.
Congratulations on what appears to be a great success and thank you for taking this leap of faith and not giving up on your dream, despite the four year lead time before opening.
We look forward to seeing you again.
Regards
Sandi Warren (Corlette)

“I've just returned home to Newcastle from Sydney. My family and I stopped at Oliver's and I just feel compelled to write and tell you how thrilled I am that you've opened your stores at Wyong. I grew up in Newcastle and now have a large family of teenagers and young adults - you couldn't count the number of times I have travelled that road in my life! Throughout the earlier years of raising my kids I often moaned at the lack of a fast food outlet that had all the benefits of one of those places - fast service, slick set-up and low prices - but that served fresh healthy foods- AND YOU HAVE DONE IT!
Thank you SO much. There were six of us and between us we tried just about everything on the menu! It was all great. We loved the big table, the fresh juices, the sophisticated coffee options, the stirfries and wraps (Which were so easy to continue eating in the car). These were all foods that I feed my family at home - even down to the miso, the wasabi mayonnaise, the brown rice and chick peas. The service was friendly, the place was sparkling, the coffee was hot and it was SO affordable. I could go on! I was gobsmacked - and well fed.
Thank you again, we will spread the word, and keep on dropping in.”
From a happy and grateful mother,
Nicola Hensel

"Just wanted to congratulate you on your wonderful Oliver's on the F3.... The toilets were just amazing (clean, modern, there wasn't water all over the benches) ..... and those automatic taps and that lavender hand lotion! Oh, what a great surprise!! And then, to be able to have a lovely hot cup of yummy pumpkim soup was such a lovely surprise. The coffee to follow was even better so I drove on my way to Hawks Nest,  extremely happy and satisfied. As a result, I have told all our friends and customers" ...... "make sure you stop at Olivers on the freeway because it's the best."

Many, many thanks for a great idea and a great healthy place to stop!
Best regards,
Amanda Cooney

"My kids loved it. They were on the internet and watching the plasma while we enjoyed our Italian coffee and we felt like we could stay a while." - Kristin from Tuggerah

"I'm a vegetarian and there were finally healthy options catered for me- and the staff knew what was in the food." - Pete from Newtown
